Bohemian Switzerland National Park, Czech Republic

Raised on an immeasurable sandstone plinth, the Pravčická brána (Pravčice Sandstone Gate) is the biggest normal stone curve in Europe. It remains over a wild and rough scene of pine woods, mountain glades, precious stone streams, rugged chasms and rough outcrops, which clears up to and over the German fringe. This is Bohemian Switzerland National Park – an astounding welcome to the Czech Republic. In the Park's more remote extends, blocked off precipices and antiquated timberland are home to dark storks, peregrine birds of prey and lynx.

The door to the national park is the pleasant town of Hřensko. Helpfully, it is not exactly a hour from Dresden and is straightforwardly associated with Dresden by highway 172, which cuts southeast over the Czech fringe.

A 15km round climbing course initiates from Hřensko. The course prompts the Pravčická Brána before taking after backwoods trails and suspension scaffolds to the foot of Malý Pravčický mountain. From here, the trail dives into a rough sandstone gorge cut by the River Kamenice. Not long after the strolling trail reaches an end and the best way to continue is by watercraft. A ferryman posts climbers through the cool conduits at the base of Divoká Gorge. From disembarkation, it's a 1.5km walk around to Hřensko, from where, if the recreation center hasn't persuaded you into staying, you can drive on to Litoměřice.
