New York, New York

I wasn't in New York City when the towers fell. I wouldn't move there until 2005 when the horizon had been everlastingly changed.

New York CityWhile, at the time, I was in my first year recruits year of school living with a flat mate who was from New York City, I don't know any individual who was a direct casualty of the towers falling. Granted, I have companions (and a sister-in-law) who lived there at the time and experienced it firsthand, however I have no individual association with the disaster, other than viewing with sickening apprehension, stuck to the TV like such a large number of millions far and wide.

The towers falling will perpetually be my era's adaptation of that.

Fittingly, we happened to be there on Memorial Day, and the historical center had recently opened. While we didn't get an opportunity to go inside—this time—I feel this expansion to the Financial District is something ever guest must see.
